Water Service

Faucet To obtain water service contact City Hall, 562-8005. If you have a question or concern about your bill call 562-8005. The  application for water service is available online, but new customers must present a photo ID at City Hall.


Prior to connection, reconnection or delivery of utility service, each customer is required to pay a $125.00 utility security deposit as a condition of receiving utility service. The deposit shall not bear interest. To set up a new account, a customer must also pay a non-refundable $25 initiation fee. Existing account transfers require a non-refundable $15 transfer fee.


Utility service deposits may be transferred or applied to a new residence or location if the customer relocates, completes the necessary application and satisfies the applicable fee and any additional required deposits.


Upon termination of utility service, any deposit shall be credited against the final utility service bill and the balance, if any, shall be returned to the customer.


The water bill includes a sewer usage charge based upon water consumption. A 10% penalty will be assessed on the bill if not paid by the 15th of each month. Water service will be disconnected if the bill is not paid by the first of the new month. A $15.00 service charge is added for late payment.


The City offers an automatic bill payment option for water/sewer bills that can make your payment directly from your checking account.



Explanation of Fees

Service Initiation Fee: At the time of the application for new utility service, the customer shall pay a twenty-five dollar ($25.00) service initiation fee. This provision shall only be applicable to the initiation of service at a new construction site or service by a new customer.


Utility Service Deposit: A request for utility services for a single-family dwelling or single-family residential unit within a larger residential building shall include a $125.00 utility service deposit.


Transfer Fee: Any existing customer requesting a transfer of utility service to a utility service location which currently receives utility service shall pay a fifteen dollar ($15.00) transfer fee, which shall be paid prior to the transfer of the service.


Disconnection Fee: A disconnection fee of fifteen dollars ($15.00) shall be charged to the customer's utility service account upon the dispatch of an employee or designee to disconnect the customer's utility service for any involuntary reason even if disconnection does not occur.


Reconnection Fee: In the event a customer seeks reconnection at a location following involuntary disconnection, a reconnection fee of fifteen dollars ($15.00) shall be satisfied.


Late Fee: A 10% penalty will be assessed on the bill if not paid by the 15th of each month. Water service will be disconnected if the bill is not paid by the first of the new month. A $15.00 service charge is added for late payment.
